F.Y.I. The average scores
achieved by music students on the 1999 SAT increased for every year of

Season Reviews
2006 - 2007 Season Congratulations to the Thurston
Honors Band
Members of the Thurston High School Honors Band for their outstanding
performance at the 2007 Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association State
Festival. The Honors Band earned a 1st division, superior
rating, in both the prepared concert performance and in sight-reading. The
Honors Band earned the invitation to perform at the state festival by earning a
1st
division rating at the District Festival held in March. The Honors Band is
one of three-hundred bands and orchestras across the state to be performing at
the state festival this year.
Mr. Lucius comments, "All of
the students are to be commended for achieving such an accomplishment having
rehearsed in a gymnasium. The members of the Honors Band are proof that
you can succeed under adverse conditions. I am very proud of the students
and their work ethic in rehearsals. The 2007 State Festival marks the 18th
consecutive year that the Thurston High School Honors Band has earned State
level honors."
