| Redford
Township is a residential community in the north central part
of Wayne County, Michigan's most populous county. Redford gets
its name from Rouge Ford that was the local crossing
place on the Rouge River. |
There
are many restaurants and retail stores located within the community.
Redford is connected to the surrounding area by major east-west and
north-south roads, Telegraph Road and Interstate 96.
The
Redford industrial base is anchored by the Detroit Diesel Corporation
and , and includes Rite On Industries and Rebmann Products
Corporation.
Redford's
Parks and Recreation Department provides leisure and recreation
programs that are open and accessible to all residents. There are
eight community parks that have baseball diamonds, tennis courts,
soccer fields and picnic and playground areas. Summer fare includes a
free Concert In The Park Series.
