The first community Multicultural
Festival was a huge success! The event featured the cultural highlights of over
65 countries. Participants toured the world as they walked through
the halls of Thurston and learning about the different countries and cultures.
In addition, Multicultural Festival offered a variety of ethnic food samples.
Entertainment for the evening included six different performances highlighting
diverse cultures from Native American Cherokee Dancer, Thurston High School STEP
Team, Croatian Dance Group: "Nova Nada" and more. The event provided something
for everyone .
Thank you to all of the Thurston
teachers and students, community volunteers and Commission on Children's Issues
for collaborating on this special event. The evening was a big success and we
look forward to the next Multicultural Festival.
