Dr. Billie Beverly, President Term expires 6/30/2008.
Elected in 2000 Billie is now serving her eight year on the Board of Education. Billie and her husband Urias have lived in South Redford for 10 years. They have 5 children and 9 grandchildren, two of her children are graduates of Thurston High School. Billie has received an Associate of Arts in Child Development; a Bachelors of Arts in Business; Masters of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counseling; Masters of Divinity; and she received her Doctorate in Health Care Ministry in May 2007. Tom Dowdy, Vice President

Tom is serving the third year in his first term as Trustee. Tom sought a position to make a difference in the school and community. Term expires 06/30/2009

Cheryl Flesher, Treasurer
Term expires 6/30/2008.
Cheryl was elected in 2004 and is currently serving her fourth year on the Board of Education. A 20-year resident of South Redford School District. Cheryl is a widow with four children. Two children are alumnus of Thurston, one graduated from U of M in Engineering the other is attending Madonna University, Cheryl's younger children attend Thurston. See BIO: Cheryl Flesher

Laurie A. Hicks, Secretary
Elected in 1999 Laurie is beginning her ninth year on the Board. Laurie has lived in Redford for 43 years. Laurie and her husband Terry have three children, two children are Thurston graduates, one of which is a graduate of Pennsylvania Culinary Arts; their youngest child attends Thurston. All three children have attended South Redford Schools for their entire educational experience.

Board Goals
Goal 1:
Working together with the community to build a positive relationship with the community as measured by the level of satisfaction with Board performance.

Goal 2:
Working together with the Administrative Team the Board will model a partnership that fosters mutual respect and collaboration as measured through bi-annual assessments.

Goal 3:
Provide an environment to maximize growth, citizenship and academic achievement to become a high performing Board as measured by the System Check Level III.

Bruce Mazurowski, Trustee
Bruce was elected to the South Redford Board of Education in 2005, and is currently serving his third year as a Board Trustee. A 36 year Redford resident Bruce is a Thurston graduate, class of 1979. Bruce and his wife Nadine, have two daughters one attends Thurston and the other attends Pierce Middle School. Term expires 6/30/2009. See Bruce Mazurowski

Gregory Van Morgan, Trustee
is currently serving his second year as a Board Trustee. Gregory Van Morgan is an active parent who has coached basketball and participated in many Redford Community events. Gregory sought a seat on the South Redford School Board of Education in the May 2006 election, with the purpose of making a difference in the education of all children.
Term expires 06/30/2010

Steve Baker, Trustee
Steve Baker was appointed to the South Redford School District Board of Education at the Special Board meeting of Monday, April 28, 2008. Mr. Baker will complete Mr. Tom Burnosky's term. Steve and his wife Michelle have been residents of South Redford for 11 years. They have three children one at Pierce Middle School and two at Thurston High School.
